We are looking for 2 experienced Shipyard Grinders / Metal Grinders for a shipbuilding project in Franeker, the Netherlands.

This position is suitable for skilled professionals with practical experience in metal grinding, surface preparation and finishing metal components in an industrial or shipyard environment.

The project starts as soon as possible and is planned to continue until the end of December 2026.

JOB DETAILS

Position: Shipyard Grinder / Metal Grinder
Location: Franeker, Netherlands

Working Hours: 50 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until the end of 2026

Employment Options:

• Lithuanian A1 Contract: €18 NET per hour
• Self-Employed: €38 per hour, with accommodation costs deducted

YOUR WORK

As a Shipyard Grinder, you will carry out grinding and finishing work on metal ship components.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Grinding metal components and steel structures
• Preparing metal surfaces for further processing
• Removing burrs, rough edges and imperfections
• Smoothing and finishing welded areas
• Using angle grinders and professional grinding equipment
• Checking surfaces to ensure the required finish
• Handling metal components carefully and accurately
• Following shipyard safety procedures
• Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workplace
• Working efficiently as part of a professional shipyard team

REQUIREMENTS

• EU nationality / valid EU passport or ID – REQUIRED
• Practical professional experience in metal grinding
• Experience working with grinding equipment
• Ability to use grinding tools safely and correctly
• Knowledge of metal surface preparation and finishing
• English minimum B1 level – REQUIRED
• Valid Category B driving licence – REQUIRED
• Own car preferred
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a shipyard environment
• Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious
• Available to start as soon as possible
• Updated CV with relevant work experience required

WHAT WE OFFER

• €18 NET per hour under a Lithuanian A1 contract
• €38 per hour for self-employed workers, with accommodation costs deducted
